Huston's parents were filmmaker John Huston - himself the son of actor Walter Huston - and ballerina Enrica SOMA. The family moved in 1953 to California in County Wicklow, Ireland. The next year they relocated to a manor house located in County Galway. Huston was a resident of the manor for most of her youth. Her father was away for long periods working on the film set. Soma quit in 1962 and in 1962, she relocated with her two children to London.
